This was my song for today. :-) I felt like my terminex guy should have broken into song.
"You're gonna Miss this"
She was staring out the window of their SUV
Complaning, saying "I can't wait to turn 18"
She said "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said "I was just like you"
You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this
Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her "It's a nice place"
She says "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says "Baby, just slow down"
Cause you're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this
Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
Dog's barkin', phone's ringin'
One kid's cryin', one kid's screamin'
And she keeps apologizin'
He says "They don't bother me.
I've got 2 babies of my own.
One's 36, one's 23.
Huh, it's hard to believe, but...
You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this"

Thanks for website address and btw I knew the lyrics... just wanted to remind YOU of them :-)
Oh, this made me long for days when I was home with my mom and had nothing to worry about because she took care of everything.
I must be a little emotional right now, cause it made me cry!! It's so true though, my mom tells me all the time how much she misses having her kids around. I guess it's about taking each day and enjoying it. (:
SO, I heard this song on the radio today went I went to pick Preston up from preschool and I cried, of course. It actually made me change my behavior today towards my kids - that's something, isn't it?
Those are great lyrics!! I just found Ben totally asleep on the play room floor surrounded by all the toys he dumped out and I was just thinking how much will miss these moments when they get all grown up!!:)
Pres. Monson said we'd miss finger prints on the windows and loads and loads of laundry when they are gone. I love this song for saying that too. Thanks for sharing! :)
ps-2 days to Lancaster and 8 til Twilight!
Even though he is 5, I LOVE when Eli climbs into bed with us and I get to wake up in the morning with him snuggling.
Dayle never liked sleeping with us, so I am REALLY going to miss this someday.
I love these lyrics. It is a great reminder! Thanks
