Trunk or Treat
I asked "Hook" to come and stand behind me for a minute so that the girls would look at me. This is what I got.... Look at Leah's face... she doesn't look too trusting. :-) Too funny!
A Kiss from Tinkerbell??? Lucky Hook! Oh, such fun times together!
Another Captain hook, this one belongs to the little Tink with Katie (above). This is just such a cute idea for a family costume.
Tori was absolutely thrilled to see her dear pal Eli in a Peter Pan costume. She LOVES Peter and couldn't believe that Eli could look SO Dashing! LOL!!
Oh we had such fun, the kids collected a record amount of LOOT in record time! And were just all fat and happy all the way home. Katie couldn't believe this concept, just walk around and people give you candy in your bucket!!???! Then you just get to eat it up??!?! Too fun! They had a ball, and I loved watching them have a ball.Posted by Christie at 12:03 AM 8 comments

Too long
It's been too long since my last blog. I have been reading everyone else's blog, but when it came time to post my own, I have had so many blog ideas in my head that I just don't know where to begin.

This Can't Be Good
This is what I found out on my deck this morning. After taking their pictures through my sliding door, I yelled out the door and they just looked at me like I was nuts. Then I waved my arms, which got a slight head bob. I had to go and get my flyswatter and swap the fence they were sitting on, then they moved to the tree behind them. I had to swat them all the way off the property. STUPID things!!! I've heard that they'll attack your dog, kind of scary. I dare say that seeing these things out your window on a cool october morning has got to be worse then seeing a black cat. :-) YIPES

A little vacation smashed into daily life.
We have had the pleasure of having Brad (Brents Brother) and his family Jodilyn and Jessica, Brandon, and Natalie come to Baltimore this past week. We took them into the Harbor and enjoyed touring a "Pirate" ship, and a submarine.
Jodilyn really enjoyed "The Fudgery". I always enjoy the fudgery! They are so entertaining. I love their singing and fudge flipping, a trip to Baltimore just isn't complete with out going. :-)
We spent the better part of the day searching for a "Crab Shack" for Jo to have Maryland Blue Crab. We drove all over Baltimore, and no luck. It wasn't until I called Jeri that we found a shack to eat at. This place was so DOWN HOME, it was funny! We sure enjoyed the personal service and I think the Crab was good. (how would I know?? BLECK!)
Doesn't Jo look happy? YUMMY! Brent had to teach her how to get in there and clean out the yellow gunk and get to the meat. (Bleck again)
Pigin' out! We got 12 med crabs, and 4 crab cakes. Some kids had kid meals, and some had Crab.
Liza and Jessie crabbin out. Would you believe that I taught Jessie how to eat Crab? Yup, as much as I hate the stuff, my hands stunk like it for the whole night. (Bleck again!!)
Jessica showing her stuff.
Brad biting it! I love this one!
Brandon even got on this thing! The kid is 5 folks! He was so brave. Also Natalie (2) was all over the slides and stuff. Not Katie, she was very timid most of the time. And, the poor girl had diarrhea on day 2 and spent the better part of the day on the potty. :-( Not fun.
Alex! Yes, my chicken liver got on the wave rider! What??!!?? And it was his idea to go!! Thankfully after hearing that the scariest ride here was the wave rider, we convinced him to go on all the other slides. He discovered that he really really LOVED the tube slides! I was so happy when he finally got into these slides. So proud of my chicken little. :-) he is growing up.
Papa bear going for a ride. :-)
The kids had such a great time! They love these little mini vacations, and the time that they get with Daddy. Tori had the pleasure of spending the first nearly 2 hours on day two with just daddy and her! They did all kinds of sliding and playing. Lucky girl. She sure loves her daddy.
Here is a guard at the "Tomb of the Unknown Solder". We did get to see the changing of the guard. Well, see is a pretty loose description of what I did, but I got the idea anyway.
I have to say that seeing all the stones lined up was a very surreal experience. I think it really rings home to you just how many people give their lives for our freedom.

It was a beautiful day, we had a lovely time together. (even if I was grumpy about driving there and home and cried on the way home cuz the stress is just too much for me.)
I vowed to never again drive in DC. So If you fly into Regan to visit me, you need to be prepared to take the Metro. If you want to go with me into the Smithsonian or any other tourist spots in DC, buy your metro ticket, or I'll meet you there!! Never again!Posted by Christie at 12:02 AM 10 comments

A Day with Katie
Today I had the pleasure of spending the whole day with my sweet Katie. Ah, it was blissful. Truly every last moment was! Tori was invited to a play date while I was teaching at the gym, so it was just Katie and I going to the gym today. She wore this DARLING little outfit, and was the Star of the gym. Most of the people that work there, know her name, so she was usually complimented by name. You should have seen her strut around there with her little hat on. I then went to teach, picked her up, then picked up Tori, and all her pals for preschool. We dropped the kids off at school and then she and i headed to Target and Costco. She talked and talked and talked. About things she saw out the window mostly. She was funny, and silly and happy the whole time. (even when i didn't buy her the annoying electric Keyboard that she was playing with in Target) I actually never bought her a thing.... she was just happy to be together, as was I. We laughed as I pushed the cart swerving through the store, and her tipping over in the cart with her little sunflower hat on. I took a mental picture, I hope it never fades. She was in stitches as i played peek a boo outside the van window while we waited for the tank to fill up at the Gas Station, and she was sure to catch her reflection where ever she could.

Kids Nearly New Sale
Ah, such a wonderful time of year! I love the sale... it is such fun! I always find bargains galore and just when I start to think that maybe this sale will be my last.... I find some cool stuff again.
Dora boots $2, other shoes $1/pair. Brand new black dress shoes $2. B&W dress, worn to a wedding, then never again $2. Dora Jammies, mom bought size 4, put them on her 3 year old, one time, washed them, then they were size 2. Perfect for Katie! 2 pairs.. $3!
Sometimes it is hard to find stuff for the older kids as things get worn to a frazzle when they are older, but Liza ended up with a brand new pair of black shoes $2. Really nice dressy sweater for Christmas $2, and a pair of Abercrombie Jeans, and a pair of Limited Too Jeans, and 4 limited too Shrits, and a black longsleved shirt $25.
(Sorry the pictures get blurry here) Tori hauled in a warm up suit $2, a pair of pink pants, jeans, a shirt, and Brand new dress, 2 well taken care of Bratz dolls, a pair of brown maryjanes, some sneakers and a cute little pink and green horsey outfit. I never paid more then about $2 for any item
And for Alex, I found some Left handed Jr golf clubs. the set is in great condition, he is indeed a left handed golfer, I never in a million years thought we could land him a set of second hand clubs! The set retails $80. We got them for $35! So excited. he also got some sunday shoes, black cords, and some warm up pants. :-) Posted by Christie at 8:09 PM 9 comments

Behind already?
After taking a few pictures we went to have desert with the Suttons. We had a wonderful sunday evening with them. I always leave their house wondering why we don't get together with them more often. :-) Thomas let us in on some Army in's and outs that will save us some time and money, so we sure were grateful for that. That night is when it hit me that Brad (Brents Brother) and his wife Jodilyn and their 3 children were going to be here in 9 days! Oh dear!! Wait a minute, I am SO not ready to have company!!! So this week flew by as I worked on all the little things that need to be done just so that our dear family will have a place to hang their hats and rest their heads. :-) We are so excited for their visit, I just hope they don't feel too tight in our home that needs to be dejunked. :-)
The ENTIRE house was taped off like this..... These places marked where people should and should not play. There were tape triangles in front of the TV's, a nice wide circle around my Lazy Boy and Piano. There were limits on the new furniture too. (oh yeah, I forgot to blog about the new furniture) That's another day. :-)
We put it in a PB jar, and I think it is dead already. :-( Darn, I wanted it to grow into a giant butterfly. Isn't it huge though? Holy cow! I went to the gym and worked out a bit on the stair machine and weights and then hung out in the hot tub till almost midnight with Christina (AKA my GPS). Posted by Christie at 10:05 PM 6 comments
